“iChannel”, a new digital signage platform aimed at small(er) business will launch in September. iChannel reduces the complexity and provides a zero administration environment for the customer. A new class of Android media player and Stinova’s cloud service infrastructure supports the solution.
The Android media player, dubbed “MediaStick”, comes pre-installed with digital signage player software and connects directly to the display using its built-in HDMI connector, it pulls content directly from the cloud using the wireless b/g/n protocol. Using MediaStick greatly simplifies installation as there is no need for mounting brackets or additional cables. Because iChannel is a cloud service, no software installation, updates or server maintenance is required and the only device needed to manage content is a laptop.
The crazy cheap pricing will attract many new businesses to this exciting form of customer engagement. Go to market will be through partners and vertical market advocates.
